My journey into functional nutrition began with my personal battle with IgA Nephropathy, an autoimmune disease. Facing the challenges of managing this condition, I discovered the healing potential of food and lifestyle changes. Embracing an anti-inflammatory diet, mindfulness, movement, and spiritual practices, I found a path to balance and vitality.

It was through this deeply personal transformation that I realized the profound connection between what we eat, how we live, and how we heal. I now dedicate my work to helping others uncover this connection and supporting their journeys toward health, joy, and vitality.

As a single mother, my own life has taught me resilience and the importance of creating sustainable, joyful wellness practices. These experiences inspire me to guide my clients with empathy and practical strategies that fit their lives.

  • A monkey bit my left arm when I was 3 years old—it was my neighbor's pet!

  • I love horses and grew up riding them in Colombia. My pony's name was Josephina, and my horse’s name was Estrella.

  • My kitchen is my canvas—I love experimenting with new ingredients and creating dishes that are as nourishing as they are delicious.

  • I’m passionate about gluten-free baking and enjoy incorporating medicinal mushrooms into my recipes.

  • My go-to self-care routine includes mindfulness practices from my friend at Lotus Mind Learning, going on nature walks, and sipping on herbal teas blended by my herbalist friend from Lunaria Herbals.

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Eliana Serna Perez is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a Master’s in Functional and Integrative Nutrition from Saybrook University and over five years of experience in the field. She has dedicated her career to helping individuals improve their health and vitality through holistic, evidence-based nutrition strategies.

Eliana’s clinical experience includes working alongside a naturopathic doctor at a wellness center in Connecticut, where she co-managed patient care, designed personalized nutrition plans, and supported clients through detox programs. Specializing in gut health and inflammation, she has successfully helped clients heal their gut, reduce chronic inflammation, and improve digestion with tailored approaches to nutrition and lifestyle.

Beyond her one-on-one work, Eliana is passionate about education and community outreach. She has led workshops at Yale University on topics such as mindful eating, superfoods, and healthy meal prepping, empowering participants to cultivate healthier relationships with food and make nourishing choices in their daily lives.

Her approach is rooted in compassion and a non-judgmental ethos, creating a supportive space for clients to transform their health. Drawing from her personal journey managing an autoimmune disease, Eliana inspires others to take charge of their well-being through meal planning, cooking classes, and sustainable wellness practices designed to fit each client’s unique needs and lifestyle.
